Whether you are a factory owner, the head of a construction firm, or a homeowner, a roof lift or a roof raise could present a multitude of economic and logistical benefits for your property. If you’re still undecided about the merits of a roof lift, here are five benefits that might just win you over.
Roof Lifting and Raising
For residential and small commercial units, roof structures are typically built on site. However, for larger buildings, such as office towers, apartment complexes, bridges and aircraft hangars, roof structures are usually designed and built offsite and installed using roof lift or roof raise systems.
A roof lift is sometimes also an option for a smaller building or house that requires a fast and efficient way to install a new roof structure.
The prefabricated roofs are built using sturdy materials such as steel, aluminium alloy and reinforced concrete. Common varieties of prefabricated roofs, which are modular in nature, include truss rafters, space frame, and suspension structures.
The installation of these massive structures requires specialized roof raising systems. Since the roof lift process is extremely skill-intensive, there are very few companies that are capable of providing the service.
At Bygging Uddemann, we take great pride in our ability to perform roof lifts using our own specially manufactured units designed and constructed by our heavy lifting section. For example the T15-S-18 Hydraulic Climber. The climbers are capable of lifting structures weighing hundreds of tons. They can and have even been used in the construction of dams and offshore drilling platforms.

The cost of a roof lift depends mainly on the roof area and how many lifting units need to be used. Example: For a roof of 800 m2 and a weight of 270 tons, we use 36 nos jacks of type T-15. Cost for equipment rental, installation, execution, and supervision is appr. SEK 400.000.
Our T-15 climber has a lifting speed of appr. 20 m/hour.
